Coiled and fired by hand in a village kiln, these black clay pots take their deep, uneven color from the smoke of the firing itself. Narrow at the mouth and round through the belly, one holds a few stems, a handful of wooden spoons, or a small trailing plant on a shelf. Each was shaped without a mold, so size and finish will be unique to each one.
